Enable 2nd Ram Slot

I've been having RAM issues and can't find any fixes for the problem I have. At some point last year, I noticed in my system information it said for Installed Memory: 6.00 GB (4.00 GB usable). I wasn't sure what the problem was or if Windows 7 was just using 2GB to run. However, recently I decided to purchase 12GB of RAM (3x4GB) and when I installed it, I got Installed Memory: 18.0 GB (6.00 GB usable).
I went into BIOS and saw that it sees all the memory in all 6 slots. But, only slots 1-3 are enabled. What's weirder is that slot 2 has a 4GB stick, but only 2GB is enabled. I don't see any option within BIOS to enable the slots or individually increase each RAM voltage.

My gigabyte x570 gaming x says to use slots 2 & 4 for a single pair so if you had my board I'd probably put the 16gb into slots 2 & 4, and the 8gb into slots 1 & 3. But I have no idea if that's a gigabyte standard, an industry standard, or differs from board to board, so you're better off checking. UPDATE 2: I must say, I am THOROUGHLY FRUSTRATED!! I have spent all of the last three hours trying to install RAM to the 2nd set of slots for dual channel. The USB 3.0 works on the replacement board, but I can't install the RAM to the second set of slots! Mind you, I have been a part of a RAM upgrade process for a campus upgrading over 1500 PCs. Today I have a computer that is only recognizing 4GB of RAM (3.9 usable). It has two 4GB RAM installed. I have rotated to the chips to different slots and tried them individually. Marksville la casino buffet. I put in an 8GB chip and again, it only recognizes 4GB. The BIOS only see 4096MB of RAM. I have updated the BIOS through HP. It is a MS7778 Jasmine MB.

So I have 16GB RAM. Craps table mgm national harbor. Tournoi poker la grande motte septembre 2021 calendar. After upgrading to Windows 10 however it says I only have 8GB. When I look in task manager it seems to know I have 16GB but for some reason only using 8Gb of it and for slots used it says 2 of 4 when I'm using all 4 RAM slots. I'm not techy at all but if somebody could explain to me why this is it would be appreciated. If it is something like just a broken RAM stick then. However, a number of lightweight laptops, including the 14-inch, 3.6-pound Lenovo ThinkPad T440s, have M.2 (formerly known as mSATA) slots which can be used to install a tiny SSD on a chip.

How To Enable All Ram

Hi Guys,
I've got an Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard. Today I tried adding some new RAM to take it from 4GB to 8GB. The board is about 6 years' old. I've never used the black RAM slots before, only the yellow ones (2x2GB in slots 1 and 3).
My system only sees 6GB, not 8GB. I've tried various combinations of the RAM, get the same result.
To check the new RAM wasn't defective, I tried it in slot 1, a known good slot. All 4 sticks of RAM worked in slot 1, so the RAM wasn't faulty.
All 4 sticks work in every slot except slot 2 (the first black RAM slot). If I put any stick in slot 2 - old or new - the PC is dead, it won't even boot to the BIOS.
So it looks like I have a defective RAM slot.
Does anyone know of any way to fix this? The board is too old to RMA. I've tried an emery board down the defective slot, and I've tried squirting WD40 down it. No improvement.
Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get that bad slot working?
Thanks!
